Dear Rip Off report

I would like to report AT&T for a ripoff being perpetuated, even as I write this report.
Many a times, at an international airport we have to make a call. Sometimes it is preferable to use calling cards. However, I did not have that luxury when I made a call from the Newark International airport.

I used AT&T's operator assited call. The lady on the line was (i dunno what to say), a lil bit short on consumer practices ? She connected my call and "FORGOT" to tell what it would cost me. Surprise surprise..I am receiving a charge on my CC of ..hold your breath
$13.00 for a call that lasted 1 second !!!!

I filed a complaint with the FCC also and as usual, my complaint was closed ! (now where did I hear this..the lil guys always get crushed in front of the big corporations ?)...

I would advise all folks out there to please beware of such DECEPTIVE marketing practices by AT&T and other phone companies...If you have faced similar experiences, please list them here. I was wondereing if thete is anyone out there that can help me ?

I feel I have been cheated, as I was not given proper information about the service I requested. The person at AT&T with whom I spoke had this to say..
"..We do not provide rates until asked for ! It was your prerogative to ask for the rates".... This is quite strange as the same company, AT&T very boldly display their long distance rates on calling cards available at airports !....
