Complaint Review: AT&T

AT&T ripoff! There's no way I made that call. Aurora Illinois

Company billed me for a long distance call from a Solomon Island dated Sep 9th a 2:07 pm. I called company to notified them that called was not place by me since i live by myself and i happened to work mon-fri from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m and that i did not have anybody at the time of this call living with me then or now. i repeatedly let them know that i'm a single woman and that i know i did not make that call.

I spoke to a guy name Ian who was extremely unhelpful. i explained to him that i don't even have a long distance service since i don't need one that a while ago they used to be my long distance service and i had a problem with this same island that my local Service ALTELL had billed me for $398.00 at the time & they even credit me for full amount. His reponse was that the only way he would be able to work with me if i would sign up for a service of a 10 cent a minute for long distance and a $35.00 flat fee to avoid this kind of problem.

I explained to him that i did not need this at this time since i have my cell phone where after 8:00 p.m. & weekends i have free long distance service and he just kept insisting that was the only way he would be able to waved my outstanding balance of $6.78 if i would signed for this service.

Please advised me of what to do since i feel i should not be obligated to have to sign up for anything for such a big company to take care of such problem. sincerely, xenia
