Dear AT&T

I have already talked to 6 of your representatives, I do not have time or energy for more phone calls and to hear about more AT&T offers.

Please allow me to explain my situation so you can see my frustration with your mistakes or omissions. In January, due to the lack of work, our office hours were cut down 25%, undeterminably.

Trying to cut my monthly expenses, I decided to switch my Comcast Internet, to DSL. I saw your 24.95 a month for 6 mbps. At a cost of 60.00 for Comcast, AT&T DSL seemed the way to go.

I first chatted on line to an AT&T representative who told me the 24.95 and rebate for the modem cost was valid signing up on line only, so I did. I got an e-mail thanking me for the order. A day later I got an e-mail saying my order did not go thru and to call you with the ID number provided.

When I called, the rep. could not verify the ID number I was given on my e-mail. she took all my information, then switched me to someone who asked me to read to him what my e-mail said. He gave me another number.

The 3rd rep. didn't know either, however, she said she would honor the 24.95 a month for 6 mbps, and a rebate for the modem. I got an installation date January 10.

Then I decided to eliminate my Non-listed service, I talked to a rep. who said there is a plan that included caller ID for "basically the same amount currently charged"  (his words). My last year bills for home service were an average of $27.00, so I agreed.

Installing the modem and getting an average speed of 4.9 Mbps was satisfying.

I got the first bill for 120.25 for Internet services and no rebate form. I called to ask about this. A representative said I was going to get a credit on the next bill and gave me a phone number for the rebate question. After 15 minutes of wating I decided to just wait for the promised credit, maybe the rebate would come along.

Today Saturday Feb 19th, I got a bill for 80.20. So instead of 24.95 for internet + 27.00 for home phone service (51.95), I am being billed 40.20 and 40.00? and still no rebate for the modem?

Please resolve this matter ASAP, OR cancel everything and put me back to my previous home plan, minus the $3.50 Non-listed service. I would agree to pay $24.95 for one month of Internet service and return the modem.

Do not offer me wireless, I am very happy with Verizon. Also do not insist on adding DirecTV as a part of a plan. Your first rep. assured me I qualified after I said I already have DirecTV. I called DirecTV they said no, only new customers. Another AT&T rep offered me DirecTV, I said I do not qualify, she said I do, I said I already called DirecTV, they told me no. I don't know who is wrong, AT&T or DirecTV, I just don't want to hear more promises.

Thanks

After 8 months, I decided to cancel my DSL intenet service. The promised $25.00 a month never happened, nor my $75.00 rebate for the modem. To make matters worse, I could have bought the modem for $10.00 on EBAY, brand new. The service worked, as I was able to get 3.5 to 4.9 Mbps (they said up to 6, oh well). But the $40.00 bills per month kept on coming despite my several calls, and doing everything they told me to do. A lady by the name of Mame never did anything to help me. I printed every single confirmation from AT&T showing I had ordered the $25.00 per month for a year and the "free modem after rebate". I got screwed. I will never deal with AT&T again.
