OK. To start off with, I received a letter from Chase stating that my visa interest rate was being raised from 8.99% to 29.25% because of a deliquent account on my credit file. After receiving this letter, I called Chase and stated that there must be a mistake, because I have never been late on any bill in my life.

Well, it turns out that AT&T Universal Card mistakenly put a charged off account on my credit profile. I have never had a AT&T Universal Credit Card and most certainly will never have one in the future now. I filed a dispute with the credit agency and they then removed the negative item from my credit profile.

That should have taken care of it RIGHT. NO! I called chase and they would not lower my interest rate back and then I started receiving other letters from other creditors saying their going to hike my interest. I Just don't understand!!! Well, it seems I got caught in the unversal default trap. Now all of my credit cards have hight interest rates because of a stupid mistake that AT&T Universal Card made.

One good thing though, I don't owe any money on credit cards, so I wasn't out any money. I will just have to pay extremely high interest rates in the event I need to use them. Does anyone have any suggestions about how I might have AT%T Universal Card pay for the difference in interest rates, since this is due to their stupidity.

Should not have too....... I would think that AT&T Universal Card should be responsible for their actions.

Your right, I could just go out and get new credit cards, but I should not have to do this because of someone elses mistake. I would think that AT&T Universal Card should be responsible for their actions.

Get credit cards from another company. When they do a credit check they will see it is clean. Then dump your old cards.
