Back in July, 2012 my Samsung Galaxy S-2 cell phone had a text from ATT that said I was required to install a new firmware upgrade into my phone.  I couldn't use it until it was done.  So, I went ahead and upgraded it, which required me to back everything up and I did.  I want you to know, when I first got this phone and until the upgrade, I LOVED this phone and even was able to turn an iPhone user away and talked him into getting a Galaxy III.

After I upgraded it, I noticed things stopped working like they used to. For example, my text notifications and twitter sounds would randomly stop working, and I had to restart my phone to get them working again...so when it stopped, I didn't know I had a text/twitter etc.  Also, my phone would randomly shut off, and I wouldn't know it.  So, it could be two hours later, that I noticed it was quiet and thought, "maybe the sounds aren't working again" and then I'd find that the phone was completely shut off.  I have to take the battery out every time I restart it.  Also, I've had several times where theres been an emergency and my phone was shut off and people weren't able to get in touch with me, so thats even more frustrating. There are more things but those were the most important.

Well, I called ATT in late October and explained it all to them, after emailing the idiots back and forth since July and getting NO help whatsoever.  The TECH SUPPORT lady on the phone wants to give me a refurbished phone, and I told her, my phone was still under warranty, and only 7 months old when the upgrade was done and was working FINE until this crappy upgrade.  I also had to tell HER that no matter what refurbished phone she gives me, its still going to do the same thing cause its firmware, and they have it put now into all that brand of phone.  My comments to her, seemed to educate her, which was a joke. Apparently, after reading online, this problem didnt effect all phones that got that ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) upgrade, just the Galaxy S-2 and ATT knows about it and the tech folks told me its a known problem now with my phone.  So, after talking to the tech girl, I got so fed up I decided to send in my phone and get a refurbished one, what other choice did I have?  So, I went through the whole process of saving all my stuff to my PC and got my phone about a week later, wrapped the other one up and sent it out.  Once I got all my stuff installed into it, the SAME CRAP happened again.  NOTHING has changed.  They said they'd give me 90 more extended days on this phone and yet, why waste my time trying to get another phone to work?  I asked them to just give me an upgraded phone, like the Galaxy III (which I was planning to upgrade to once my contract was done) but they wouldn't do that.  Are they really losing that much money, by giving me a better phone, or by losing a customer?  I've been with them for almost a dozen years, and when my contracts up in June, I'm DONE with them and will go elsewhere.  UNLESS, someone is willing to just give me a Galaxy III phone and I was even willing to rewrite my contract for another year with them.  I hate it that they act so freaking cheap and would rather save a buck, than please a customer.
