AT&T wireless ripoff tricked and lied to us Pittsburgh PA
I went to an ATT outlet store to buy a replacement battery for a Nokia 5165 cellular phone. The customer service person told me it would be cheaper to buy a new phone that had a rebate. I thought it was a good deal. The service person never told me she was going to renew my contract for another year.
I got slammed without any notification that this ofeer requires a one year renewal. I called ATT customer care to find out about my existing contract and they said it was renewed 38 days ago which I new nouthing about. In addition, this customer service person was rude and inconsiderate to me and did not go out of her way to resovle the problem. I was told that I had the new phone for more than 30 days and would have to discuss that with the manager of the store where the transaction took place.
I have never been treated like this before by ATT, I have been a customer of theirs for more than 15 years. This an an example of a company that is desperate for business and is exploiting its existing end users to maintain its revenue goals. I will make sure they do not do this to anyone else. Watch them closely..

New Phones Cost Much More Without A Contract Than With.

It is unfortunate that the salesperson failed to inform you that in order to get a free or cheap new phone you would have to renew your existing contract.
The truth is any phone costs much more without a contract than with.
The salesperson should have told you this but they are trying to make a sale.
Always read what you sign.
If you truly feel deceived contact the
store manager and politely voice your opinion.
Hopefully you are happy with your service.
Ive been with AT&T for 7 years and I have found the customer service people very helpful.
In the future consider one of the popular auction sites for cell supplies.
I bought a new battery for my phone that would have cost $60.00 from AT&T for a mere $15.00.
