Ok, I signed up with att because of the low advertised rates. I later received an letter in the mail for ~12.00 dsl service. I thought it was a steal so I signed on to that too. The lady stressed to me that as soon as I got the equipment/modem I should mail off the rebate so it won't be on my next bill. Wrong. Not only was it on my next bill but when I called I found out that I was going to receive my rebate in the mail in approximately 10 weeks.

And if that wasn't enough, the rebate was for only 49.99 and the modem cost 79.99. So when I called I was led to believe that the modem was going to be basically free as long as I mailed off the rebate in a timely manner. But that isn't the end of my problems. Imagine how my eyes must have popped out of my head when my first bill for my 50.00 service was for 250.00!

If that still wasn't enough I had my stuff set up from the get go to be debited to my account, however they did not so I had to pay a late fee! It won't be until my 3rd billing period that I should even receive a bill about the amount I expected. My second bill is supposed to be over 100.00!

This is absolutely ridiculous and not what I signed on for. The only reason why I am still with them is because I am waiting for my bill to become the price, I was told. Plus now somehow my dsl is for a price of 14.99, I can't find the original offer that was for 12 dollars and something so they won't honor it.

My uncle has had a similar experience. And to top it all off, I have yet to be online with out being dropped from the internet. They were supposed to had fixed that as well but never have.

If you decide to go with att make sure you have plenty of extra cash on hand for all of their fees, surcharges and the like.
