Atena And SRC CompanySRC An Aenta Company They lied and left me standing with my pants down!!! Columbia South Carolina
Ok so I started this job with Securitas Security USA (Which already has its flaws), but anyways i started this job because my wife was pregnant and we needed insurance which this job offered. I signed up and before i added my wife on the plan I asked if my plan covers pregnancy and birth and everytime I asked they always said "yes just make sure they doctor does global billing". I asked multiple times and everytime was same so I felt pretty good but then D-day came my son was born no weird births just the usual natural birth and stayed 3 days.
Well about two weeks later we started to get these phone calls and letters stating that the insurance didn't cover anything so my wife and I start calling SRC up and for a while they fed us this B.S until we calmed down. Then when we got no results after we confronted them about them lieing they said nobody here ever said that births and pregnancy was covered and everytime I try to talk to a Supervisor they are all of a sudden busy or they put me on hold until I hang up mean while they are still taking 300 dollars out of my pay check.
I was never able to recieve my benefits I asked for all I got was a small index card with no usefull information on it. When I would go to the doctors I was told that IF I go to one of there doctors on the list I would have to pay nothing, and I always went to one of there doctors and what a surprise I have a bill in my hand with an amount I have to pay even though it was one of there doctors. So now with a 9 month old son this is still no taken care of because I can't get no one with REAL answers and left my family and I barely making it and all they do is steal my money.
No more Aenta I think if someone isn't happy with there coverage they have a right to cancle anytime regarless if you have other ins. or not

If your wife was pregnant BEFORE you signed up of coverage through Aetna then they will not cover it period
I have Aetna and I agree it is horrible insurance but better than nothing
Sorry you have no case -

While I understand your frustrations, theres a few things you might not have known:
1.
Almost every insurance company treats pregnancy as a medical condition. If you policy did not SPECIFICALLY state it would cover the pregnancy, then it wont cover it.
2.
Just for sake of argument, lets say the policy DID have coverage for pregnancy. If you already knew that you and your wife were expecting BEFORE you were shopping for insurance, the pregnancy would have been treated as a "pre-existing condition" and would have been excluded.
3.
NEVER and I mean NEVER EVER just take someone's word for it when it comes to ANY type of health insurance (or anything for that matter). If they say "Yes it does", ask to see it in writing. As we all know: If its not on paper, it never happened.

As far as canceling your policy whenever you chose, you are right. You ALWAYS have that ability. If you could not get someone to do it on the Human Resources side of things, you can always contact the company directly. If that is to no avail, you can always consult and independent agent. If you are willing to look into coverage to replace the coverage that you are not happy with, I am sure they would be more than happy to help you look into getting the undesired policy terminated. Noone can MAKE you carry any type of policy if you dont want it, especially one that is that exuberantly priced.
As I stated in the title, this is a very sad but very normal situation. I suggest contacting your states department of insurance or seeking legal advise. It may be a long drawn-out process but if you want justice that may be your best bet. I wish you luck.
