On April 29, 2010, I purchased a 1994 Dodge Ram with the understanding that dealer would replace transmission. I gave him $2400.00 for the truck, and also agreed to pay him an additional $450.00 for shop bill in rebuilding transmission. The dealers name is Andrew Schatz. He told me that the truck would be ready for pickup in around 4 days. Schatz encouraged me to call on Monday and he would inform me of the progress made on truck. I called daily for 3 weeks and finally was told the truck was ready. I retrieved truck from dealer and took it home. The next morning when I went outside I noticed fluid had run from transmission and ruined my new driveway. I called dealer who told me to bring truck back to them. I put fluid in the truck and drove it back. They called me the next day and said the real seal was bad but they had repaired it and to come and get truck. I again retrieved the truck and drove it home. The very next morning I made it a mile down the road on my way to work, when the truck started bucking and grinding I immediately turned around and babied the truck home. I called dealer who said he would send a wrecker to get the truck. 3 days later a wrecker arrived and took the truck. I am writing this report on Oct. 26, 2010 and I have not had possesion of my truck since they took it 5 months ago. I called and called to no avail; I was given excuses such as, " The transmission is on a delivery truck coming from California and they don't know where the delivery truck could be" " I sent a man to pick up a transmission in Augusta and he brought back the wrong one" " We put the transmission in but the seal is bad have to order a new transmission" These lies went on and on. I have logged countless hours in phone calls to Schatz who lied continually. Finally in frustration my wife and I went to Schatz ( I will not call him Mr. ) He's a pig. We requested that he either repair the truck or at least give our money back. $2,850 that we had paid him in good faith. He looked us straight in the eye and said "sue me" I went to the local police and filed a complaint also informed the BBB of this situation. I gave Schatz every oportunity to repair the truck. ALL I WANTED WAS THE TRUCK THAT I PAID FOR IN WORKING ORDER! Since that time Schatz has picked up and moved to his present location in Cartersville Ga. I am informing the Attorney Generals Office Of Consumer Affairs about this lowlife scum who refuses to keep his word. He failed to warranty the transmission and has made good use of the money that he stole from not only me, but my family. By not repairing my truck in a timely manner he has caused me loss af wages as I could not get to my jobs; I have continuosly paid insurance on the truck, sincerely believing that he would keep his word. Not to mention that I feel like a fool for ever taking his word; and will never take anothers word in any situation. Now I will have to pay money to have the truck repaired by a reputable company. As a matter of fact "AAMCO" the same company that the Liar Schatz said he sent it to for re-build. They told me they have never heard of Schatz. He is king of the liars. I am talking with the local newspaper about doing an article on this thief. Hopefully we can have him closed down and gift the world with one less scumbag; Andrew Schatz. Too much more to list in this report. I am not the only one he has scammed. But hopefully will be the last!

If you do, you won't be the first. There are many who have started litigation. He has also been suspected of nonpayment to vendors and bilking some investors out of hundreds of thousands of dollars. The guy is a lowlife. suethebastard@gmail.com

Sara, I am glad that things worked out for you; unfortunately I listened to his lies for much too long. As I said in earlier report. 6 months is totally absurd in the repair of any vehicle. Not to mention the fact that in all that time, Schatz let the truck sit on his lot and never did a thing to satisfy me his paying customer. In a week or so I will have a report from the reputable business that is handling the repair. In this report you will be able to see that the so called re-build that Schatz told me was done; in fact was never done. I am going to publish on this site a breakdown of the parts that were found totally ruined along with pictures of the parts. These pictures were taken by the business owner now doing the work. Sara you seem to be pretty calm about him taking so long with your vehicle. I am wondering if maybe you are a relative or employee of Schatz? Just curious. No matter; Schatz knows that he lied and he knows that he was not upright as a MAN should be in his dealings. He has to live with the fact. It may not bother him now to be a "ripoff" but it will all come back to haunt him in the end. It only takes a little effort to do the right thing. He chooses to do the wrong thing and that is never a good thing. All I know is that the Judge will take care of it for me.

I suppose my biggest mistake was in being so trustful. I was raised to take a man at his word; which I guess now days is a foolish thing to do. Back in Jan. of this year our home was struck by lightning and my car was fried in the process; luckily my wifes car made it through. When I stopped at this place of business I intended to use the insurance money to replace my old vehicle. When I found out that the Dodge did not have a transmission I was ready to walk, and should have, but the dealer told me that they had the best prices for re-built transmissions. He then handed me off to an employee, and after some haggling, I told him I wasn't paying for the transmission and that I would go somewhere else. I was then asked to at least pay 450.00 of the install labor. I know, I should have turned and ran, instead I agreed, with a hand shake being my word of bond.
I really like the truck so I have no complaint there, but; rather in the fact of how he lied continuously without so much as a bit of remorse. I mean who treats their customers in such a manner? As I said before all I want is for Schatz to do the right thing and I am going to see that he does it. This matter would have been over months ago if he had only done the warranty work as he should have.
My bad for giving him so much time; but he kept insisting that he was going to fix it, and each time I called he would say the torque converter in the new tranny was bad or it was the wrong tranny ect. ect. I took him at his word which obviously is not worth a d**n. I now realize this guy had no intention of repairing it. He tried to use a bandaid and it would not hold. He obviously was hoping that I would tuck my tail and go away but this is one Irishman who ain't goin' nowhere except to the next step in the process. It's ridiculous!

As of Oct.26, 2010, the waiting period suggested by the BBB of Ga. has expired and Schatz has failed to complete the warranty of transmission in the Dodge Truck. I spoke with County Sheriff this morning and went to dealership to get vehicle. I went inside to retrieve key from business and was told by an employee that I had slandered Schatz. What a Joke! I told him that every word of this report is true and all I wanted was my key. They have some nerve after all the lies he has told me, to even suggest that I have slandered him. The employee whom I have never seen before, has never been privy to any of the conversations between Schatz and myself; but there are phone records that will establish who is telling the truth and who is not. I also have numerous witnesses and I will not stop until this matter is satisfied. I will do everything in my power to ensure that these types of shoddy, ne'er do well businesses are closed down. Really, who in their right mind would think that it takes 6 months to repair a transmission? The proof is in the pudding. 6 MONTHS
Anyway, the outcome so far is that the warranty work was never performed by Schatz. The truck has no Overdrive and no Reverse. The truck is now in the hands of a REPUTABLE company and I am sure that they will accomplish what Schatz would not.
Am waiting for estimate on repair to submit to my lawyer and from there, to the Judge!

So, why haven't you? This would seem to be a simple, open and shut contract dispute. You do have everthing in writing, don't you? Small claims court suits are inexpensive to file and do not require attorneys.
This will get you a lot further than complaining to various organizations. Although that never hurts, it won't get you your money back.
In the future, this is what you can expect if you buy a broken vehicle and expect the seller to fix it later. The big tipoff in this case should have been that no one (not even a dealer) can replace a transmission for anywhere near $450.
