I bought a car from Pro Car Auto Group, and was financed through Atlantic Finincial Services.  I told them that I could only afford no more that $350.00 per month payment; no more! The purchase was just under $6,000 for a 1996 Pontiac Grand Am which was overpriced but they were a buy here pay here dealership.

Problems started immediately because you had 10 days to make your payment before it was technically late I got paid on Fridays and set my paymets for that day! I generally made my payments at Pro Car dealership site in Zanesille, Ohio where I lived, but the car company left town so I then had to start sending payments or using my debit card to make payments to Atlanticf Financial Services, which I later found out that they were the same company.

Even with the 10 day grace period they would start calling on Fridays if my payment was not received by closing and they were really nasty even though I was not really late with threats to repossess my car.  I let a friend borrow the car which was my fault because it was impounded in Columbus, and I couldnt get the information for  where it was from my so called friend, so I went to  the police department filed a report, then let the financial company know what was going on and that I had the money to get it out and catch up my payment witch was only 1 bi-weelly payment late, but as soon as I located the car I would pay the impound fees and both payments for november 2008.

The police found the car This was a Saturday so I arranged to get the car on Monday, but when I got to the impound lot Atlantic Financial had already got the car. I called to see where I could pick up the car and pay my payments, and was told that they didnt have to let me have the car, they sold the car and charged off the balance of $896.

They refused my payment which was not a full month behind, charged it off, and ruined my credit.  Come to find out they had to leave Zanesville because they were making it impossible for people to make their payments and repossessing cars and re-selling them getting all their money back and then charging late fees which were bogus and the cost of the repo and  ruining peoples credit.

I cant even get a chance to make it right even though I wanted the car and had the money to take care of it.  Also If you  got 3 pays in a month you had to make another payment on that pay day even though the payment was only supposed to be $350 a month on those months with 3 bi-weekly pays  I was paying over $500 on those months.

This company over prices, over charges, then reposses and ruins peoples credit without even letting you make it right! Can someone help me figure out How to get this negative and fradgulant company to take this off my credit report and restore my credit since they are the crooks, not me! Any help would be appreciated!

Colorado,

The lender is, indeed, a sub-prime (deadbeat) lender...

Welcome to Atlantic Financial Services! For over fifteen years Atlantic Financial Services has provided thousands of "credit challenged" consumers,

Does this look familiar? Credit challenged simply means "DEADBEAT".

How did you manage to let them force you into paying too much for the car?  What caliber gun did they hold on you?

I predict years of credit problems for you with your actions and attitude.

All of your problems are YOUR doing...sorry

The purchase was just under $6,000 for a 1996 Pontiac Grand Am which was overpriced but they were a buy here pay here dealership.

- Then why did you buy it?  How come you didn't go to another dealer and get a better price?  Oh I know the answer..because you have not proven you can actually handle credit and this dealer was probably the only one who would finance you.  Big Risk = Higher Prices and Interest.

Problems started immediately because you had 10 days to make your payment before it was technically late I got paid on Fridays and set my paymets for that day!

- Actually it is technically late after the day it is due there are no grace periods.  The 10 Days is the period of time you have before they assess a late payment fee.  But it doesn't change the fact that if your due date was on the 1st(for example) if you pay it on the 2nd you are late.  By the way this 10 day period is quite generous especially for a Buy-Here/Pay-Here place.

Come to find out they had to leave Zanesville because they were making it impossible for people to make their payments and repossessing cars and re-selling them getting all their money back and then charging late fees which were bogus and the cost of the repo and  ruining peoples credit.

- They made it impossible for you to make you payments?  They charged you late fees that were bogus?  Please tell us how they forced you to give your car to a "friend" who got it impounded?    Oh wait you were only 1 bi-weekly payment behind, which since bi-weekly is 14 days and the last time I checked 14 days is greater than 10..sure looks like the late payment fee was valid.  You had the opportunity to mail it or use your debit card...sure sounds like they didn't make it imposible to make your payments.  Oh and as for your "friend"...YOU even admit that it was your fault.

So no they did not ruin your credit.  That honor goes to one person and one person only.  If you don't know the answer to this..just look in a mirror.

I cant even get a chance to make it right even though I wanted the car and had the money to take care of it.

- Well perhaps then you should have paid your past due amount when it was due and not on your own say that you will pay it when you find the car.

Can someone help me figure out How to get this negative and fradgulant company to take this off my credit report and restore my credit since they are the crooks, not me!

- Oh poor baby..the entire world is out to get you and nothing is ever your fault.  Sorry to tell you but the only you will "restore" your credit is time.  You need to get credit and make your payments on-time and don't do things like "max out" credit cards.  Because you have not proven you can handle credit, yes any credit you get is going to be at higher interest rate and fees.  But this is all your doing and you need to "work your way back" to good credit.  The good news for you is that negative items will be on your credit for about 7 years.  So if this happened in 2008 depending on exactly when it happened you only have until 2015 or early 2016 until it drops off.
