Complaint Review: Atlantic Group

They called my husband threatening lawsuit and arrest (which is violation of Federal law) saying that there are "serious alligations" against him, but refused to tell us who "hired" them, or ANYTHING in regards to the account without giving his full SSN which we refused (I offered all other identifying info, but no company asks for FULL SSN... and NONE of them spoke proper English.... I called back 5 times and FINALLY reached a "supervisor" who did not speak proper english either). They then told me they could go over everything in the account and "reach a proper settlement" with me if I'd like.... but then they said they "can only discuss this account if provided full SSN".... THAT right there told me it was a scam! It is against Federal law to discuss any account details with me without my husband permission directly to them (he sent me the number so I called, he is at work right now)... as well as them threatening arrest!

I asked for their LEGAL address of the company, as well as any Federal ID number or any other information to identify the company. All he said was that it was in Chicago, but could not even give me a corporate address. SO I googled the company name and Chicago and came across complaints including some one here.

I informed them that I will be filing various state and federal complaints and that if they have any information, they can contact us via US Postal Service.... I then asked for an address they had on file for my husband, and they said "all we have is the town" which is where is used to live 5+ years ago... any supposed "debt" from when he lived there would be past statute of limitations anyways...

Either way, they are now blocked and I'm filing complaints....
