Atlantic Management & Seville Condominiums ripoff cheated employees and screwed the customers even more con artist Union City Elizabeth New Jersey
I am an independent contractor who has worked for Seville Condominiums for going on five years now. The condominium company has switched management companies recently who is responsible for making sure that vendors who have contracts and supply services regurlarly(landscaping, snow plowing etc.) to the condominium get paid. Recently in N.J. we had close to two feet of snow in over the course of two days.
My company provides snow plowing service for this development. My company has serviced this account flawlessly for almost five years now ,always going far beyond our contract agreement at our cost and our liability as alot of the folks in this developement are older and not able to do for themselves. On the other hand, alot of them are just plain lazy.
I am referring to clearing of peoples personal parking spots when it snows so that they may get to their vehicles without walking through snow and over ice. We would not mind plowing lot however, no one will ever come move vehicles for us. We are responsible to clear center(driving area) of lot and walkways in approximately 4" increments to keep safe and passable.
However as it takes considerable time to plow lot as it only has one entry and really no location to put snow when it is a significant snowfall, I have employees run in between cars and blow with machine/remove snow so that they may be able to get to their vehicles when they are finished with walkways.
You may think that this is no big deal, but it is not our job and looking at it from an insurance viewpoint, I must be crazy to take the risk. God forbid we should scratch someones car etc. The insurance to run this type of business legitimately is very expensive. So you can see the additional risk that we take on for these folks to show customer appreciation. This is not the problem.
Atlantic Management has not paid us for the last three snow falls and the account is seriously overdue. We get the largest snowfall here in thirty year history and we must decide to either discontinue service or do the right thing and show that we care as a company and service the account.
As always ...we do the right thing. Now keep in mind that they have switched management companies and you can sympathize Seville Condominiums as this can take some time on thier part to straighten out their own red tape , I suppose.
Once again ...not my job, I do not know. Since Atlantic Management has taken over, we have not recieved payment for one invoice regardless of how many times I have contacted them since they have taken over account. They are on a net ten from invoice date in order to avoid this very scenario(the piling up of service charges that are not paid).
We have never put a service charge on thier account even though contract states we have right to do this. Through this major snowstorm Atlantic Management repeatedly called my company to get estimated time of arrivals , my schedule etc. We kept their premises cleared as according to contract specifications.
Atlantic Management is under the impression that we are supposed to catch snowflakes as they hit the ground. We have other customers, we can't cater to them in this manner and ignore the rest of our clients. We fulfilled our obligations and they do not want to pay their bill. Even though the account was seriously overdue we still gave them premium service.
They were able to leave thier building if they needed even though the entire state was closed down and in a state of emergency and the Governor of state asked everyone to stay in thier homes so that people who were working to clear roads etc. could get the job done as efficiently as possible without hinderence.
To end this, Atlantic Management/Seville Condominiums is forcing us to take legal action to collect the monies owed that were in arrears as well as the amount for the major snow fall.
Ungrateful sob's we did not even have to servicethis account as they were two months behind in payment. Much less try to appease a non-paying customer at other customers expense who pay their bills according to contract agreement.
I try to call both Seville Condominiums and Atlantic Management to resolve payment issue, both with no luck. They are forcing me to take legal action which is not worthwhile for the amount of money that we are discussing.
We pay big insurance, big vehicle maintenence fees(transmissions, front ends, brake jobs), material costs for salt etc. and overtime to employee's who must work incredibly long strenuous hours to service these accounts 9this last storm 36 hours straight from prep to end of snowfall, then we slept 10 hours and went back at it for another 12 hours to finish up)so that bigger business(Atlantic Management, Seville Condominiums Corp.) can tell you that if you want your money, sue us.
They are ungrateful, slimey theives and should be known for what they are so that they do not do this to the next working slob like myself who is just trying to make a living. They know that for us to pursue payment in this state the way consumer laws are written will cost more than they owe us.
This is not right, but it is the way that it is unfortunately. If we pursue, attorneys fees will much likely be as expensive as thier bill as well as wasted time and stress. What is the incentive to run a legitimate business and give unequaled service anumore? Look this site over, look at scams and service that big businesses provide to consumers.
This all makes me terribly nauseous. My contracting company(Infinity Contracting)has always bent over backwards, went above and beyond to satisfy customers ,only to be ripped off by consumers who are always looking to get something for nothing.
We are a small business that has to provide unequaled service and committment in order to survive in a world where big business is taking over. But look what they provide. I beleive most people know this and that is why they call a smaller company, however alot of these same people are the ones that refuse to pay for services rendered.
We will never be wealthy or a big business because of the detail we give to our small customer base which is mostly referral and repeat customers. Shame on those who prey on smaller businesses. Remember when you do not pay us, I still have to pay my employees, my overhead and my expenses in order to keep running my little business. Where do you think that money comes from? My personal finances, that is where.
We are working day in and out to provide good service and customer relations to be put into debt slowly but steadily by businesses like Atlantic Management and unfair, one sided consumer laws that protects a dishonest group of people who do not want to pay for services that they are provided.
I am not stating all consumers are of this nature by any means, however, we do run into more than our share being a small business. Maybe this is why my wife and I do not have children , as we both work crazy long hours to keep our heads above water only not to get paid by individuals of this nature.
They were all warm in thier homes with their families and children while we were up 36 hours straight, and my wife laying in the middle of the driveway as she slips off the back of the truck hurting her back so that they will not pay us when we are through. Yeah , we are business owners. we got it made, we make alot of money. Please, if you only knew the reality. Well at least we sleep at night when we finally are able to get to bed.Thank you Ripp Off Report

Atlantic Management is one of the best management companies in NJ. Their work is professional and they go all out to insure that each condominium association gets the best possible customer service.
The above complaint may be aimed at another company with a similiar name. They are unknown to Atlantic.

Atlantic Management does not manage Seville Condos nor have they ever heard of this person who wrote the above complaint.
We have no idea who they are mad at and who they have mixed us up with.

Would like to thank the rip off report. We are not sure as to if they read post or were concerned with legal action as we had told them we would pursue case. Whatever , bill was satisfied on 3/31/03. Better late than never. We were just going to forgive debt as we know from experience, as a small business in the construction field, it does not pay to pursue these matters. They usually cost more money and time than you are loooking to collect....never mind the headaches associated with it. Thank you GOD and Rip off report.
