I hired Atlantic Moving Inc and their agent Flux Transportation Inc to ship my household goods, from CA to NJ. We had agreed on a total of $1,200 which it has been paid in full and then on the day that we were to receive our personal belongings we got a phone call from the truck driver stating that we had to pay an extra $4,300. I asked the person that runs the truck company for all the information of his company and himself.

He gave something totally different information from what is stated on a letter that was sent to me from the company and from the FMCSA. Also on the letter it states that he will sell my stuff if I don't pay in full now it is $6,000 plus. In that shipment I have items that have sentimental value, that is all my daughter's stuff that was given to her by her grandparents in Japan.

Here's all the info I can find on your two companies, maybe you can do something with it.

Atlantic Moving, DBA name AAA Atlantic Moving
38 65 12TH STREET
LONG ISLAND CITY, NY 11101
Phone: (718) 784-1939
License numbers DOT629840 and MC300406
Had a seven month license revocation in 2001-02.
Has had insurance applications rejected twice for applying under a different name.
Does not have any "agents", they are an independant mover.

Flux Transportation is a little more interesting.
Flux Transportation
301-174 ST #320
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FL 33160
Phone: (305) 792-7903

The first thing I see is their two trucks have been involved in three accidents, including three injuries, seven totaled vehicles, and one fatality.

They do not have a DOT license, which they should have if they are going across state lines. They have an FMCSA license number of MC422116.

Neither company has a broker's license, which is required to "hire" another mover to complete the job. You should have been picked up and delivered by the same company you hired.

Be sure to note this when you file your complaint at 1-888-DOT-SAFT. You should contact a lawyer about getting your stuff released, though.
