I contracted with Atlantis Studios to run an advertisement as part of their "Christmas in July" program. Our company did not receive a single response (no new website visits, phone calls or emails) as a result of this ad campaign despite the company's claim that the program would reach "approximately 22 million households nationwide".

Our segment was scheduled to run 27 times beginning July 9, 2007 and ending on July 29, 2007. I was told by Atlantis Studios that affidavits would be available 30 days after that last airing of the program. I made several requests either by telephone or email to get copies of the affidavits. The response was always that they had the affidavits and they would be sent right out to me. The person I had been dealing with (Marc Schechter) stopped taking my phone calls. Marc Schechter was very responsive until he got my money. Once he had my money he was very difficult to reach.

I talked to Doug Schaffer and told him I was not pleased with the run around I was getting. I then sent an email to him and Marc requesting either copies of affidavits or a refund. Later that afternoon (more than two months after I had first requested them) I received copies of invoices from their media provider. They were not affidavits and did not mention my company name anywhere. The invoices in no way showed that the services I contracted for with Atlantis Studios were provided. That was the last I ever heard from them.

I told Marc and Doug that I expected them to either send me copies of legal affidavits confirming that my ad segment ran on their program or a refund. I received neither.

I have strong reason to believe that I was a victim of false advertising claims by Atlantis Studios.

Atlantis Studios Provided Detailed Airing Logs To Client

#2UPDATE Employee

Tue, December 02, 2008

As with any promotional campaign or advertising, we cannot guarantee the viewer response to a company's product. After the conclusion of the airing of one of our programs, Atlantis Studios Corporation receives detailed airing logs from our media partners, networks and/or affiliates These airing logs are the network's " legal affidavits" provided to us to prove that the show aired as contracted. Atlantis Studios first mailed and later faxed these airing logs (containing show air dates and times) to this Client. As such, we respectfully disagree that we were not responsive to this Client's inquiries.
