Atlas van lines delivered estate furniture to me in Jan. 08, and the driver's "helper" (Lloyd) helped himself to 2 of my prescription medicines and $100 out of my wallet in my purse. We called the police and they found one of the bottles (contents emptied out) in the cab of the truck. (The driver had returned the other bottle that he found on the guy in the cab of the truck, prior to calling the police).

All the police could do is write him a ticket, despite the fact that he had 3 prior convictions for burglary and had served 11 years and was out on parole (in Ohio). I found this out in less than five minutes by going to publicdata.com. The driver said that guy had worked for him for 1 1/2 years!

Now, in order to get returned to me what was stolen from me, I have to sign a blanket claim release form that Atlas has provided that only states "Other-household items" as being damaged in transit, valued at $120, rather than the TRUTH of what happened, which is the thief STOLE from me! I have to sign a "legal lie" in order to have what was stolen from me returned. It is a bitter, bitter pill. I asked the claim people, but they will not re-word the claim form to reflect the truth.
Atlas's motto on their letterhead is "integrity, quality, solutions". Hah!
