I signed up for "bronze" digital cable hookup via the internet with 2 televisions to be connected. I got approved and had a scheduled hook up. I called to make sure that the connections for 2 TVs were acceptable and was told that there should not be any problems. The scheduled time was between 1 & 5 pm.

Although the wait time for the technician to show up was unreasonably wrong, I waited anyway. He did not show up until 5:05 pm and then proceeded to tell me that he could not install it for so many different reasons. I noticed that he was eager to leave because he kept on emphasizing the need for me to reschedule this. I called AT&T Broadband office (Dallas, TX) and informed them of the problem, i.e., that I was never informed that I have to have the phone outlet and the cable outlet to be essentially on the same wall. I was advised to have the basic & expanded basic service only and call them after a telephone outlet is installed. I finally agreed to this and asked her about the 2 TV hookups. She was insistent that I will only have one and must be in the living room only.

I thought that I have the right to expect something installed as per our agreement. ATT Broadband insisted on how, how many and where this is done. In this instance, it exemplified extremely poor customer service and consumers like me are beholden to them because we are not allowed choices.
