AT&T and the above contractor had endevored to install fiber optic internet at my home beginning in April 2019.  From April 2019, there were workers, and surveyors on my property and within the neighborhood but never any announcements they would be doing work or entering property.

We always had to inquire about what was next.  From June to July, individuals were arrivng in non commercial vehicles, sometimes with “AT&T” hand written on the sides.

The first time workers began doing damage at my residence, a person named “Jose” was at my residence unannounced.  He was unable to locate the utility box needed to complete the installation. He and his crew left paint marks, still very visible on gravel paths, on the driveway, across landscaping and walkways that were later determined not to be needed for the utility box, because it was the wrong utility box!

On July 18, 2019, most of the damage was done when two installers - surveyors?, arrived unannounced again.  One of whom was “Jose” again. Jose had no identification, no work order. They arrived with few tools and for some reason used my waterhose, leaving it broken and with the water on.

When I first noticed Jose, he had been on my property for sometime, looking at the same (wrong) utility box from the last unannounced visit. Jose seemed miffed when I spoke with him. He said my wife had called and complanied about the last unannounced visit and the paint damage. I told Jose where the proper utility box was.  He asked if I still wanted the install? I told him yes, but without damage! (Mistake).

I would have stayed, but I was on my way to an appointment.  When I returned home I was shocked at the damage they caused.  I was more outraged when I saw the video! The damaged to my property which includes but is not limited to;

  • Damage to waterfall feature.
  • Plants.
  • Irrigation system
  • Water hose
  • Permanat paint to driveway and walkways
  • Broken and damage landscaping lights
  • Broken benderboard.
  • Gravel and rocks displaced

After contacting AT&T, assistant to the office of the president, Luis A, he provided numbers and contact information for Qualtek.  It seemed whenever I called Qualtek, I could hear a jackhammer or some construction commotion in the background.

Eventually, a representative of “Qualsat” took photos, and provided an email he doesn’t answer.  (This person (Ray Reyes had no identification, no business card, and told me, “Business cards are too old school now.” I provided a estimate from my gardner to repair and replace the damaged items. ($570.00) not including materials.  This was rejected by Qualtek and AT&T.

AT&T, (Office of the President) Assistant Luis A, offered a minimal credit.  Luis A had been sent video and photos of the damage, but would only say, the subcontractors were the only ones whom to make a claim and they Qualtek, “Don’t use paint during the jobs.”
