Prior to my purchasing two belly button rings on 8/1/02, I asked the salesgirl, "If they don't work, can I bring them back?" Her response, "Yes, within two days." She did not advise me that I would not be refunded, that only an exchange would be allowed.

I took the items home, they were not to my satisfaction. I brought them back within an hour. The salesgirl & her supervisor, Chris, argued back & forth with me about the policy. The policy was not explained properly prior to my purchasing the items. They refused to give me my money back. Chris advised me to let him check with the owners & call him at 10:00am 8/2/02.

I did so, he advised me that the owner is "Fairly unsympathetic" to my situation, and therefore would not allow me to be refunded. If I had been fully advised of this policy upon requesting the information from the employee, I certainly wouldn't have written out a check for $49.22 for something I didn't know was going to fit me, and look right.

They keep the items in a case and when people want to look at them, they take them out and let the customer touch them , place them on the counter, etc. I have had my piercing for over three years, it's like an earring.

When I tried the items on, I used isopropyl alcohol during the entire process. They were on for less than a minute and I was not happy with how one of them looked on me, and the second was not long enough for me to fasten it, due to how deep my piercing is. They have no other items that I would desire to own. The only way that I will be satisfied would be to get my money back.

For future reference, almost all body jewelry stores have a NO RETURN policy if the jewelry has been opened.

It is unfortunate what happened to you, but mopstly for health reasons, taking body jewelry back is not usually done.

Using alcohol won't help anything; any jewelry (or other supplies) that has been anything but sterile MUST be autoclaved. Many pieces of jewelry can't even be 'claved.

Again, it is unfortunate about your situation, but common sense should prevail here. The company should just eat the loss and refund you since you were told that would happen, but how could you think they would take back USED body jewelry, even at the word of an incompetant sales girl?

This sounds like a rather unsanitary establishment anyway... letting customers TOUCH the jewelry? Disgusting.
