I recently I opened my email to find that I'd received "notice" that a lawsuit is being filed against me for non-payment of a $300 "internet payday loan" I've never had. At the top of the letter, it shows a lot of old (non-current)contact and personal information AND reads I allegedly took out this loan on the date of February 12, 2011. However, as you read into the body of this poorly written letter (if an attorney actually wrote this, he needs to be sent back to grade school a la 'Billy Madison') you will see yet another date:

"Now let me inform you that you had taken an internet payday loan of $300 from INTER NET PAY DAY LOAN Company on 04,20,2012 and you never made payment back to the company since 2012 so it has reached to $650. So, company account was trying to contact to you but there was nothing happened so now company need their money back with all interest rate. Was that intentionally happened or you made a mistake? Neither date is true or correct. I have not taken out ANY payday loans, period, for several years, and definitely not in the in the last 2 years.

The letter goes on the EXPLANATION OF ALLEGATIONS which include 'Violation of Federal Banking Regulations', 'Collateral Check Fraud' and 'Theft by Deception'. Additionally, the supposed amount currently due on the alleged loan also changes. In the opening paragraph above, it states $650.00. However, in the copy of the "official" notice attached to the email, (copy attached) this amount changes from $650 to $700??? (NOTE: For posting purposes only, I removed the send date and the Case File # but still have the original will all information intact, if needed). I must say the chicken scratch signature is a nice touch.

I am told there will be a hearing in 72 hours "in court house" and that they wish to "safe"(?) me by giving me the opportunity to settle out of court: "Now if you tell me your real thing that we can try in our best to safe you and giving some law aid so that you can resolve the matter out of the court house without spending such big amount penalty as $10,000. So tell would you like to go for legal action which you need to appear in the court house or would you like to resolve it out of the court house?" How generous to give me a chance to settle a payday loan I've never taken out! I suppose the next thing would be to demand payment information or to have me send money via wire transfer (eyes rolling).

I mean no offense when I say this, but this letter appears to have been written by someone for whom English may be a second or third language. It looks as though "attorney" Holder might have copied and pasted from one of those online language translation sites. The overall wording, formatting and punctuation are an inconsistent mess. The worst thing about scam (besides them being able to get enough of my information to contact me with this bs) is it must be paying out for them in some way, or they wouldn't keep sending out this stuff. I just wanted to put in my two cents before they try to scam me out of it. Thank you for reading.
