Complaint Review: Auctionroad

Auctionroad is an Internet based business. I paid them $98.70 for their materials and access to their products to get started with my own home based business. Before I paid for the membership I asked them if I would be refunded if I weren't 100% satisfied with their program. I was assured that I would receive a 110% refund if I were not 100% satisfied. So I paid $98.70. Approximately a week later I received a booklet regarding their products and services. After reviewing the materials I felt like the company was a scam so I called Auctionroad on August 1, 2003 to request a refund.

The customer service was horrible and I was treated like I was something they stepped in. George ( Auctionroad Representative ) told me I could not request a refund yet. I needed to call back at a later date. I called several times requesting a refund; each time I called I spoke with a new person, Christopher, Amy, George and Employee #646 just to name a few people I spoke to. Each time I called there was a reason they would not issue a refund. After jumping through hoops and taking a firm stand Auctionroad agreed to issue a refund. I called over and over again to check on the status of my refund.

Everytime I called I was told a different story about why I hadn't received yet and why they hadn't issued the refund. I wrote to the Better Business Bureau hoping to receive help in getting my refund. Auctionroad responded to the BBB claiming they sent me a refund on October 6th, 2003. To this day I have not received a refund, I was right, this company is a scam. Please help!

Following are the dates I called to request a full refund:
August 1, 2003, August 5, 2003, August 8, 2003, August 14, 2003, August 20, 2003, September 4, 2003, September 19, 2003, September 22, 2003, September 24, 2003 and October 2, 2003. I also mailed two letters via certified returned receipt and faxed 7 requests to Auctionroad.
