Well just two days ago 3/15/04 I got ripped off by two guys in a White SUV saying that his boss ordered some speakers and screwed up the order and they had extra ones if he took them to his job the manager would keep them. Me a dumpass I went and had no money and did cash advance and paid him $200 for 2 speakers that don't work, I want to help in any way possible to catch those ripoff assholes.

Buying from an "employee" in a van?

#5Consumer Comment

Thu, March 25, 2004

Hi All:
I am a bit confused. Not to condone anyone ripping someone off... But I am wondering, if these guys are representing themselves as employees with "extra" speakers that they don't want to take back to their boss, instead they want to sell them to people... wouldn't that be embezzelment on the part of these guys in the van?

If this is so, then someone wanting to buy a set of speakers that are supposed to be worth $1700 for $200 - $400 should know that they are dealing with stolen property.

Beleive me, I do believe that what these guys are doing is wrong. I also believe that it is wrong to buy goods out of the back of a van or a trunk of a car. Especially if they are claiming to be ripping off the company they are working for.
