Ripped off in denver/littleton.

At about seven oclock tonight my broter, best frien, and I were partaking in some pizza at a local establishment. Having filled ourselves completely we came out and two guys in a black ford explorer rolled up and asked us if we wanted to see some speakers. I said no thanks and so did my friend... they pulled in anyways... and he caved saying all right well we'll check em out.

They gave us the now seemingly typical story of being students in college (CU Boulder) and having just installed a whole set of the audio equipment in a house in green mountain and that the 'idiots at the wharehouse packed two extra's cause they thought they were sets'they gave us a story about how they had the same thing happen with a plasma tv, they took it back to the company they work for and their boss took the tv. so this time they were just trying to get some cash out of the deal... made it seem like we all benefited from the deal. My bullshit meter came up real quick and I told my friend and brother iw as out...

So they pulled one of the boxes out of the suv and said that some guy had just offered them 360 for them but it was a check from alabama and he didn't wanna take it. My friends checked it out and decided they'd go through with it cause it was a great deal and the guy had shown the papers saying it was worth 1,299 and they had reciepts for everything as well... said they could even write us a receipt. they had me run over to the atm and i took out 80 dollars for them and my brother added the rest of the cash out of his pocket.. all in all they payed 210 for the speakers. The guy even offered them beers while they were waiting for me to come back and they were talking about video games. They gave my friend their number so they could call if they were even in boulder and wanted to buy him a beer of two to repay him for giving them such a great deal.

looks like they basically got ripped off the same way everyone else did. i managed to find the audiofile handout thing online that says they're worth 1299 so who knows.. maybe we can feed a pawn shop the same bs...
