I was going into a salon to pick up my girlfriend after her nail appointment when 3 guys in a white SUV drove up and asked if I wanted to buy some speakers. I reluctantly agreed and they popped their trunk revealing 3 Sony Receivers in boxes, and two pairs of the infamous Audiofile 583LR's.

I talked to them, asking where they had gotten them. They wore Eastern Audio T-shirts with name tags, claiming that they do home installations and that speakers were over-ordered by their manager by mistake. He claimed they retailed at $1500, showed me the warranties, etc. He wanted 400 each, but we woked our way to 200 for the pair.

He was with two other guys - one said absolutely nothing and sat in the car the whole time, the other helped the salesman make his points and convinced me. I only lost 200 bucks, but the fact that they were wearing shirts and name tags made me into a sucker.
