Audiofile ripoff! The white van speaker scam got me too. Chino California

Same as everybody else. 2 guys in a van try to sell me speakers. They started at $600 for each speaker but I talked them down to $75 each and wound up buying 2 pairs.

The "white van speaker scam" got me. These speakers are worthless and have absolutely NO resale value. Pawn shops won't touch them. I would give them up for $20 each just to get rid of them but there is no market for them at all.

These speakers are built foreign from what I can tell and then distributed out of California and Florida. The distributors are part of the scheme as well, giving out magazines and deceptive information to their "speaker guys" so they can con gullable people in parking lots.

I tried calling the distributors. I was upset and wanted a refund but got a "We cannot offer you a refund because we did not sell you the speakers." The lady continued on to say that she would "have one of the 'speaker guys' call me back." But nobody ever called me back. The distributors are in this scam as much as the 'speaker guys'.

What these people are doing IS illegal. The distributors have put employment ads in papers about making thousands of dollars per week selling home theater products.

There's a reason people continue to fall for this scam...

...that reason is called GREED. Face it, when someone approaches you and says "The boss ordered too many speakers, and so we're selling the extras" or "the supplie shipped us more speakers than were on the invoice", these people are showing they aren't honest to begin with. They are either stealing from their boss or the distributor.

Now, you decide, "Hey, I can get a good deal here! So what if I'm buying stolen merchandise." Because of your personal greed and willingness to participate in the dishonesty, you get burned, and you deserve it.
