Three guys in a white Chevy Suburban selling speaker equipment:

I GOT THEIR LICENSE PLATE #:

5CMY832

They came up to me and insisted I buy a "really nice" set of home theatre speakers. They said something about how they were coming from a shipping company and taking a bunch of inventory to their boss, and they had an extra set that they had to get rid of or else their boss would find out and take it for himself. They confirmed none of the equipment was stolen. I tried twice to decline the offer but they kept insisting I could sell the speakers on eBay for over $3,000.

On the boxes it listed the retail price as 1,999.00, so I figured what the heck, I went to the bank (which coincidentally, was right down the block) and ended giving them $600.00 for supposedly three boxes of audio equipment worth $3000.00.

I was planning on just re-selling them on eBay and making some easy profit, but now, its apparent it is a known SCAM. I heard the speakers actually work but the brand "Audiophile" is a non-existent company and the sound quality is hardly what one would call "home theatre". Beware of these guys.
