Complaint Review: Augustine homes at Colonial Forge

 Please reconsider if you are planning on buying an Augustine Home in Stafford, VA. We purchased a home with them and have major regrets. Starting with the salesmen, Robert Fine. He will tell you lie after lie to get you to sign the contract. It was a night and day difference in the way he treated us after we signed. He will lie about the lot, what comes with the house, time frame, quality of the home. If you do decide to buy through augustine, please record every song conversation with the sales manager. After many complains about Robert Fine, all they did was send him over to the Glens neighborhood to sell the more expensive homes. As for the homes itself, 50% of our windows leak in air. They sent someone one out several times to caulk and shove styrofoam in the sides of the windows. They still leak air and they refuse to replace them. The fire place is cold and drafty in the winter. They sent someone out to basically put a bandaid on it. They refuse to take further action. They had to replace our door frame and the door is still sticking. We've had plumbing issues and they had to drill into our foundation in two places to fix it. After almost two years we have nail pops and seams in the walls that their contractor missed and they refuse to fix. The houses are too close together. The common areas in this neighborhood resemble a traitor park and they refuse to correct this problem. They lied to customers about common areas behind their homes. The huge hill in this neighborhood looks like a landfill hump and they call it a beauty mound. They will work on certain homes in this neighborhood yet refuse to do simple repairs on our home. I WOULD HIGHLY RECONSIDER BUYING A HOMES FROM AUGUSTINE!! Take your money to Poplar Estates or Embry Mills. They are zoned for great schools in stafford and have great looking common areas and great reviews!!
