Complaint Review: Auravie Skincare

Auravie Skincare Offered a "risk-free" trial, I called to cancel within the 10 day period and they wanted to charge $30 for keeping the free sample. I refused, created a request to return it unopened and they STILL charged me 97.88, the package is in the mail being shipped back to them. Van Nuys, CA CA

I ordered a "risk-free" trial of 3 sample bottles of Auravie online.  I was only charged for the shipping and handling (1.05) and a small processing fee (1.95), and the fine print of the order form did mention that the free trial automatically subscribes you to their product unless you cancel within 10 days.

I called 9 days after my order was sent to cancel.  I spoke with Rebecca and her supervisor, Monica, in the Utah location.  Rebecca informed me that I could cancel the order and no charges would be placed on my card.  A few minutes later, she called back and let me know that was misinformation and I would actually have to pay $30 for the cost of the "free" sample.

Rebecca put me on the phone with Monica, who explained that they don't have sample sizes and the package I received was a month's supply, so I would either have to send it back (meaning I pay the shipping and processing costs both ways, and get no package) or pay the $30 to keep the sample.  After arguing for a while, she dropped that price to $14, but insisted she couldn't go any lower.  I agreed to pay the $14 dollars and she assured me that it meant I would NOT be charged anything else.

That was yesterday.  This morning, I logged onto my online banking and found a charge from IMSKIN (not Auravie) at a different location, with a different phone number (that doesn't work) for $97.88.  I called Auravie back and they confirmed that they charged me $97.88.  I asked them why this charge came from a different company and they sounded clueless.

My bank has agreed to refund the charge if it goes through and Auravie does not ultimately reverse it, but STAY AWAY from these people!
