Aurora loan service is ripping customers off with their effective date of payment for their mortgage loans. I went to their sight to make a mortgage payment and clicked on process payment on 6/15/2005 at 8:58 pm and the payment was processed and i confirmed the payment, somehow an effective date was entered as 6/24/2005 which effectively made the payment late and a late charge was accessed based on this fact. I called them and reported that an error was made when i received a notice for the next month that hadn't been posted yet and told them of the error on their website. They apparently need the money very badly because they refursed to rescind the charge saying that i had requested this effective date. I did no such thing. This sounds like a way for them to ripoff their customers especially if they are creating this effective date. Aurora is a ripoff company

You don't understand, with the effective date thing no matter when you make the payment if the effective date is set by them to a date pass your final date then they can charge the fee. So, i.e. make the payment on the 1st and the effective date is the 20th then you are effectively making a late payment.

Make your payments on the first, when they are due, then you won't run into this problem.
