I had applied for a position that I found in craigslistasheville (http://asheville.craigslist.org/csr/926887121.html) Asheville Account Executive Payroll Services.

Subsequently I received the following email:

As it turns out. There is no Auth Media; at least not that I can find. After getting my credit report, I had a non-delivery message for the jobs@authmedia.com email address.

All that they want to do is to drive business to their credit report service. (((Redacted)))This in turn is used to sign people up for a savings/discount program (((Redacted)))

It is possible to cancel these memberships and services. They seem to make their money from people who are too busy to notice the "this membership will incur monthly charges, unless cancelled by you" notice.
