I made the biggest mistake of signing up with Authority tax services, not knowing what a big scam they are. I signed up back on Nov. 21, 2013 with tax advisor Scott Weeker. Before I signed, I've informed him that, I don't feel good about making decisions on the spot like this, with a company I don't know, and especially over the phone without meeting face to face. Scott Weeker assured me that they have over millions of clients and will not risk the company's reputation to scam one client for a few thousands. He also said I have 3 days to read up on the company and if I change my mind, I can cancel at any time before the 3rd day.

After I signed, I did some reading up on the company, and did more reading that evening. There were too many negative comments and not one that's positive, so I called Scott Weeker the next morning and told him I wanted to cancel my contract. He asked me why and I said, I just don't feel good about my decision after reading all the negative comments. He then got rude and started telling me I was making a big mistake and how I'm going to ruin my corporation because of my bad decision. I informed him again, that I did not call for his opinion about me, I just need him to cancel my contract as I am still within the 3 days cancellation policy. He continued to be rude, so I raised my voice and said "please cancel my contract, end of discussion" and hung up. Months later, found out that my credit card company was not able to resolve the dispute because Authority tax serives claimed they provided services to me already. I called Authority tax, only to find out that Scott Weeker was no longer with the company. I explained to the ATS what had happened between me and Scott Weeker and I also requested for a second dispute through my credit card company, however, the result was still the same.

Today, I've requested for a 3rd dispute and again called Authority tax. I was informed that there’s no documentation on my contract cancellation by Scott Weeker. I was told by ATS supervisor Thomas that there will not be any refund due to “no documentation of a cancellation”. I trusted that when I called to cancel, my contract would be cancelled, no where in the contract did it state that I need to make my cancellation in writing. ATS is a bad business, do not get involved with them. I am waiting to see the result from the 3rd dispute, if it doesn't get resolved, I will be seeking a lawyer. If there are any lawyers out there who has handle cases similar to this, please contact me with your info. Thank you!
