I went online and called a few different moving companies in Miami. At the time I had already been relocated to Pa and was doing this on the phone or internet. I spoke to a person Named Natalie (not with the company when I was moving). I was quoted a price for the move and even overestimated. I scheduled the move for Monday June 26th and requested an early move since I had flown in to Miami to finish packing and was flying out on as 8:30 flight back to Pa. They said they would be there by 9 but showed up at 7AM.

I had spent the weekend bubble wrapping and shrink wrapping everything but two large mirrors that I could not handle. Natalie had told me that was covered in the price of my 2 bedroom condo move. When they showed up I was told that nothing was covered and that they would tell me if my packing was appropriate. They charged me all different priced that where not in the original price even though I had specifically asked for a full price! I was working with a set amount of money. The end result was that they charged me over $100 more than the previous estimate.

The guys were pretty nice and somewhat helpful but I was very upset by the additional price for elevator, long hallway etc. The truck that showed up was titled Infinity Moving on the truck. (NOT AUTHORIZED MOVERS) I paid online the next day 1/2 of the cost. They also said they would call me three days before the estimated time of delivery.

I received a call on Friday the 29th and was told my stuff would arrive on Saturday and that I BETTER have cash. Not cashier's check like I was told and that it clearly states on the website and contract. The driver told me he had nothing to do with Authorized Movers and that he was an independent contractor. He also said he had nothing to do with packing the totally disorganized truck that contained at least four other clients stuff all mushed together and that if anything was missing to call the company since it was not his problem or concern that he was only the driver!

When he finally showed up at the storage company, he was ALONE! Before he would open the truck, he wanted to be paid his cash! When he finally opened the truck what I saw was a disgrace to say the least. The truck was packed and things were squashed in and boxes were smashed. Nothing shrink wrapped and no order. There was a packing strap that was between the different clients' stuff. That was it. He had to run around and find day labor to help him unload and that still took 5 hours. I had packed so carefully and everything was neat and in order as well as clearly marked. I also had labels and numbered every box and some of the smaller items.

I have at least 20 boxes missing as well as all of my good linens for my beds that were packed in clear plastic storage bags specifically for these items. I now have to physically go to the storage and check inside every box and uncover everything to check for damages! Then re-box and re-wrap all the stuff. I was paying for professionals and got nothing but Mickey Mouse movers.(although Mickey could have done a better job) My Linens were numbered as well in the storage bags and taped closed.

I had to run around from the truck to the storage bin and watch everyone since these were local boys with a unit in the storage place too! They easily could have taken my stuff if I was not on guard outside of the bin. They actually were helpful. But this was not what I had paid for. I expected courteous professional movers. Not some independent trucker with a bad attitude .

What do you do when you are a woman and he shows up demanding cash or he will drive away with your stuff. I have tried to contact the company and keep getting someone named Daniella who is also very cocky. Her account (of course she takes the word of the man who loaded) was that the dispatcher TOLD HER ( BASICALLY CALLING ME A LIAR!) my stuff was put in the truck by him and nothing was missing. I am here to say that I know what I own and cannot even put my stuff together because there are NO screws or bolts. Also my dinning table was taken apart and the base is missing. So now I cannot even use my expensive table.

I do not know what to do, I fear they will keep re-routing my calls and nothing will be done. Anyone who can offer a suggestion please let me know. How can they get away with this kind of thievery and disregard for your personal belongings that you treasure? Someone from this company has my stuff and I want it back. I intend to write to FDOT and the Attorney General as well. I think if we all do this maybe we can put them out of business.

#4REBUTTAL Individual responds

i was transfered to las vegas last summer and called authorizes movers, inc. for quotation over the phone. affter telling them how many boxes i have they gave me price of $ 1,750.00 to move my stuff from california to las vgas. and i set the date that my belonging to be delivered. they promissed. but when they showed up two days late in my house they told me that first the price i received is too low and second they could not deliver my furnitures on time but they could store them for me until they have time to deliver. i said that the apartment i rented is vacant and i need my furnitures. the mistake i did was i gave them my credit card number. they leftmy house and i called another mover. they came and agreed to deliver my belongings to las vegas on time for almost the same price.

to my surpirze when i received my discover statement next month i saw three carges agaist my ard. one $ 1,650.00, one $ 18.00 and one $ 175.00.

when i called them ans asked them what are these charges they told me that since i did not cancell the contract on time they cahrged me.

i approached my discover card company they first put hold on payment and then told me the same since i did not cancell my contract they are not obligated to cancell the charge.

i approached the district attorney of florida and file complaint. authorized movers told them that they reverse the charge and district attorney's office wrote a letter that this case is closed.

i again sent a memo to district attorney of florida and mentioned that they are lying and they must proof of the reversal payment.

i did not gain anything ad desided to approach through district attorney of california as per documment i received through internet. i did so but the result i received from our local ( santa clara, ca.) district was that i could not sue any company out of state.

now i am out of almost $ 300.00 plus $ 2,843.00 and many long distance phone calls.

i became a beliver that justist is not for the guilty one it is for inosent people without protection. and strongly bleive that our system is breeding criminals and making inocent people guilty.
