Complaint Review: Auto Body on the Spot

I usually don't take chances with things like this but a man approached me who had a proffessional looking pick u truck that  that said AUTO BODY on the SPOT. He said that for $450 cash he could repair a big crack that was on my trunk from my computer chord getting crunch in the crease of it in just an hour.

He also said he would take out all the rust spots etc on the bumper for that price.

He looked professional and he was just up here for the day and worked out of Brooklyn and just did this for some money on the side.

He had a sander and fiber glass filler, paint and paint tape etc. All seemed to be going ok until I came back with the money and he said he was almost done that he was just going to put wax on the job and to let it dry till the next day then rub it off.

As the wax started to fade I could see my bumper and the spots done looked some kind of dirty/black red and not matching my car at all. Once I took off all the wax it was easy so see that he did a very shoddy job getting paint on my bumper etc and paint that did not match my paint and the fiber glass fill was weak and uneven.

I had to take it to a real auto body shop who is charging me another $450 just to undo what this jerk did.

aparently this is a scam all over...I should have known and now I;ll pay. Just writing this to put it out there beware of this guy and all others who do this kind of thing.
