I traded a 2000 Jeep Cherokee that had 300,000.00 miles on it for A 2011 Jeep Liberty with a skyroof. Within the first 24 hours, I had to get the car towed, while I was at work, to the nearest mechanic for a new battery and an altenator. Which I paid for out of my pocket!

My SALESMAN WAS "CLIFF" ( NO LAST NAME)  Whom I called imeadiatly at the time of towing and he put me on the phone with the owner of the dealership. AKA "DON".... Don was mad that I towed the car to my mechanic, that was close by to my place of employment.

The car had 69,000 miles on it. It also had a check Engine light on shortly after I drove off the lot. I called Cliff, MY SALESMAN imeadiatly after driving off the lot. His words verbatum:

" DON'T WORRY SWEETHEART, WE WILL FIX IT FOR YOU JUST BRING IT IN!!!!! "

( I have to laugh and cry at the same time)

I brought the vehicle back to "DON" AKA THE OWNER. THREE TIMES!!  "DON" SAID HE FIXED THE SENSOR.... I PERSONALLY STAYED AND WATCHED HIS MECHANICS TAKE OUT A SENSOR FORM ONE JEEP AND PUT IN MINE. This was the second time that I was inconvienenced and lost a day of pay due to no transportation. THEY do not lend you a COURTESY car!!! FYI!! They suggest for you to RENT A CAR!!!

I called "CARVANT" the lending institution, whom THEY pushed my loan through.

PSSSST I THINK THEY ARE PART OWNERS.... WARNING : 'conflict of interest"   I told CARVANT about the issues on the car and I WAS HESITANT to accept the loan. due to the fact that the dealer did not fix the check engine light on the car.Long story short, and this is LONG....

The second time I brought the vehicle there, He had it on a lift. I said I would like to test drive the car before I accept the purchase agreement and loan.

DON LITERALLY HELD ME AND MY CAR HOSTAGE IN THE DEALERSHIP! He locked the doors and said agree to the loan or you wil not have a car... Keep in mind , He had my trade in, that he stripped for parts....

So there I was , a recently widowed woman, scared and I felt intimidated by two men and if I refused the loan I would have no way to get home!!! So I was FORCED TO SAY ; " YES" I AM HAPPY WITH THE CAR AND WILL TAKE THE CAR. ( Can you Imagine?")

Bottom Line ..... I now have invested close to $4,000.00 in repairs.... My mechanic told me to sell or trade the car. I went to reputable dealership. They told me I have a SALVAGED TITLE ON THE CAR.....

I AM UPSIDE DOWN ON MY LOAN!!! I Also want to tell you I bought this car due to the skyview rag top. that now does not function. I had to replace that check engine light sensor to the tune of $1,800.00 . IT NOW NEEDS BUSHINGS AND CONTROL ARMS TO THE TUNE OF $1,600.00 OHHHH and the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT was a computer that cost me $1,900.00

IT ALSO NEEDS TIRES and the interior felt on the sky roof leaked so much , that there are water stains all over it. You know how he fixed it??? by putting two screws into the back of the skyroof that when you drive the car it sounds like you are in an air tunnel!!!!

I will be EXPOSING THESE SCAM ARTISTS UNTILL THEY ARE BOUGHT TO JUSTICE...

They are also EXPORTING THESE CARS OVER SEAS!! ILEAGALLY!

IF YOU ARE READING THIS AND ARE IN DESPERATE NEED OF A CAR... KEEP SHOPPING AROUND AND DO YOURE HOME WORK.....

SHAME ON THEM TO SCAME A RECENTLY WIDOWED WOMAN WHO JUST LOST HER FIANCE HER HOME AND HER BUSINESS AND GIVE HER A SALVAGED CAR WITHOUT TELLING ME AT THE TIME OF SALE, AS a matter of fact... They showed me a bogus CARFAX!! And they did not pu that in my Purchase agreement folder at the time of purchase!BUYER BE WARE AND STAY AWAY...

DMV CLOSE THESE LYING SCAM ARTIST'S!!! KARMA IS A BI*CH ! BUT THE MOTHER OF ALL MOTHERS GOTCHA!!! AUTO EXPO IN HUNTINGTON IS A SCAM STAY AWAY!!!!

If Your Timeline Is Accurate Then You Could Have Dodged The Deal

"Engine light on shortly after I drove off the lot."

How did the vehicle perform during the test-drive?

"THEY do not lend you a COURTESY car!"

Does the purchase agreement offer a loaner vehicle while your vehicle is being serviced?

"I told CARVANT about the issues on the car and I WAS HESITANT to accept the loan. due to the fact that the dealer did not fix the check engine light on the car."

Your statement implies the loan had not yet been processed. Your timeline makes no sense unless you left the dealership without a completed loan agreement.

"The second time I brought the vehicle there, He had it on a lift. I said I would like to test drive the car before I accept the purchase agreement and loan."

Here again your timeline implies that you took possession of the vehicle without a completed loan agreement. If that’s the case why didn’t you just walk away from what was obviously a money pit?

"DON LITERALLY HELD ME AND MY CAR HOSTAGE IN THE DEALERSHIP!"

Did you file a complaint of unlawful restraint with the Suffolk County Police Department?

"IT ALSO NEEDS TIRES and the interior felt on the sky roof leaked so much , that there are water stains all over it."

The tires and water stains are items you should have observed during the pre-purchase inspection.

"SHAME ON THEM TO SCAME A RECENTLY WIDOWED WOMAN WHO JUST LOST HER FIANCE"

As if your story isn’t odd enough, you are now stating that you recently lost your spouse and fiancé.

"A SALVAGED CAR WITHOUT TELLING ME AT THE TIME OF SALE"

Did the dealer disclose the salvage history on the back of the title certificate?
