Auto Hans Inc. Hans Preen Ripped off on car purchased Addison, Texas
An inspection of the 1999 BMW Z3 I purchased from Auto Hans Inc. shows that Hans went to considerable lengths to conceal damage and multiple repair issues.
Discount Tire determined that the two front tires have flat spots with 3/32 of tread removed; both front wheels are bent and require replacementbased on the technicians opinion, this is evidence of a severe braking event and collision.
Front clip of car has been re-sprayed and there is a slight ripple in the hood denoting stress from a collision. The center air duct is missing and the right/left duct brackets are damaged.
Secondary air pump (smog device) vacuum hose was broken yet Auto Hans gave the car a passing grade and an Inspection sticker...The Department of public safety were notified and thy are currently investigating.
Engine warning light came on two days after purchase, repeated attempts to clear light failed.
Multiple fault codes are present. Emissions, ABS, starter, O2 sensors etc.
The ABS, Traction Control, and Cruse control lights do not illuminate when ignition key is turned to on position.
Various interior dash components including those that house the instrument cluster are severely damaged and beyond repair. It appears someone hastily removed these parts to gain access to the instrument cluster.
An inspection of the instrument cluster indicates someone tampered with it and eliminated the ABS, Traction Control and other critical lights that indicate inoperative safety systems
These inspections were performed by a hired certified BMW Technician at their shop with the proper BMW diagnostic computer.
Here are their conclusions.
The car sustained a frontal impact which damaged the car.
Someone deliberately disabled onboard warning lights to hide inoperable safety systems e.g. the ABS-Traction control module (which is not working) and other systems needed for driver safety.
An inspection of the car by a qualified repair station would have detected numerous red flags
which should have been addressed prior to placing the car for sale.
Note: The car was advertised to be in great shape and
was inspected by the seller, a certified BMW Repair Station.
Photos of instrument cluster missing numerous bulbs, which include the ABS, Traction Controlas well as the secondary air pump vacuum hose. Are available...

Auto Hans is in denial...

Hans Preen, not Alex Preen is responsible for selling used cars at their repair shop. Alex is the garage manager and his brother Hans sells the used cars. Alex is responding to a claim whilst lacking firsthand information of the situation...he is not aware of the conversations I had with his brother Hans yet he pretends to be the authority.
The bent front wheels and damaged tires are indicative of a collision that took place before I purchased the car. Hans admitted that he repaired the front of the car due to damage that was present when he took ownership of the car from the previous owner. There is evidence of Han's claim based on a freshly painted front end and additional damage under the car that was not repaired.
Considering I had no conversations with Alex regarding my retirement or making racist comments tells me he is covering for a brother who sells substandard car by misrepresenting their condition.
My facts are straight and I have trained technicians who have inspected the car and confirm my allegations. Based on my experience I would urge others to be careful when dealing with this company.

False statement
#5REBUTTAL Owner of company
Thu, August 09, 2012
The accusations made by Stewart P are completely false and inacurate. Mr P purchased a 1999 BMW Z3 with on 120000 miles on 5-23-2012 for $5500.
Before the purchase Mr P test drove the vehicle 3 times to evaluate the condition of the vehicle.
Mr P advised Auto Hans Inc the vehicle was leaking oil, the state inspection needed to be done and the drivers side lower das panel seemed a little loose. We agreed to repair the oil leaks, get the car inspected and advised Mr P that the dash panel could not be fitted any better due to the fact that a previous owner had the dash repaired a few years back. Mr P agreed to purchase the vehicle. We got the car inspected on 5-22-12 and it passed with no issues. We replaced a valve cover gasket and oil filter housing gaskets and also serviced the vehicle.
Also Mr P was told that we had the front bumper and hood painted because of a dent in the front grille area (i do have receipts for everything)
A few days after Mr P picked upo the vehicle he called and said the check engine light had come on. I told hime we would be happy to take a look at it as maybe a vacuum hose had been disconnected during repais of the oil leak. Mr P said not to worry and he would clear the fault codes for now with a scan tool he owned.
On 8-2-12, nine weeks after the original purchase Mr P came by our loacation with a list of complaints. One was a check engine light which did turn out to be a loose vacuum hose that he had fixed elsewhere, misc loose dash pieces and a malfunctioning ABS system. Someone had removed the ABS light bulb which we had obviously missed initially and lkastly worn front tires and bent rims? In good faith we offered Mr P to get the ABS repaired and also to help out with maybe finding some used dash pieces and splitting the cost to make him happy. Mr P did not want to reason and demanded that Auto Hans buys the car back for now $8700.
We only agreed to give him the original $5500 and but the vehicle back to keep Mr P happy.
Upon denying his offer Mr P began shouting racial remarks and took off with squealing tires. In the days to follow Mr P made numewrous threatening phone calls to Auto Hans quote" I will make it my mission to destroy Auto Hans, I am retired i do not have anything else to do".
Also numerous internet post were placed by Mr P. Obviously this will become a legal matter.
With over 20 years of experience i have never hear of bent wheels due to heavy braking?
Furhtermore i recent Carfax report shows that Mr P had the vehicle reinspected on 6-22-12 and it had passed with no issues.
