Unfortunately I purchased from AutoPartsGiant.com not knowing how bad they were. I wish I had known about RipoffReport.com beforehand!

11/14/08, I purchased an air pump and was immediately charged $221.30 on my Mastercard debit card.

11/24/08, no update to my order. Their website still said that it was a "New" order.

11/24/08, I called them (no answer), and I e-mailed them (no reply).

11/25/08, I contacted the following 3 people to get something going:

1. I went to my credit union where I have my Mastercard checking account debit card and filed a fraud report. It was fast and easy. If you paid with a regular credit card, immediately call and file a fraud report with the credit card bank. They have investigators in their fraud department for this sort of thing, and insurance to reimburse you when they determine that fraud really occurred.

2. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. http://us.bbb.org. Guess what, AutoPartsGiant.com has had 686 complaints filed in the past 36 months!

3. I found the California Attorney General's website and filed a complaint.

http://ag.ca.gov/consumers/general.php.

11/26/08, AutoPartsGiant.com sent me an email stating that they shipped my order. But no UPS tracking information has been provided. Who knows if they really shipped anything at all. Maybe my filing a fraud report at the credit union got things going. The credit union said they were going to contact Auto Parts Giant to see what was going on.

We'll see what happens, and I will definitely update this report if anything changes.

12/05/08, I received a letter from my credit union that the issue is resolved and that I will be receiving a full refund deposited to my checking account. I will also be getting a new debit card. Everything will return back to normal, thank goodness.

AutoPartsGiant.com also responded to my complaint on the Better Business Bureau's website. I don't know which of my actions helped resolve this issue quickly, but hopefully my story on RipoffReport.com will give you ideas and suggestions to help you resolve your problem with AutoPartsGiant.com too.

Thank you for the tip about filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, I will do it!

11/26/2008, AutoPartsGiant.com sent me a generic e-mail stating that they shipped my order. No UPS tracking information provided. I didn't believe it.

12/02/2008, they sent me an e-mail stating that they were out-of-stock of my air pump and will be cancelling my order. And to disregard the previous email from last week that they shipped my order! Lies lies lies. Supposedly they will be issuing me a refund. I doubt it. Reports from other consumers on this website have had the same crap told to them too.

I will provide another update if I ever get my credit back.

#4Consumer Suggestion

Tue, December 02, 2008

After following the path of contacting Better Business Bureau, Attorney General, etc, I have found that they are all dead ends. I have found that possibly the only way for action to be taken against this company is by reporting them to the Federal Trade Commission. Go to www.ftc.gov and report them. I have created a report there, but I appear to be the only one. They mentioned in that in order for them to take action, they need more complaints. Unforutantly, everyone has been going to other sources and not the one that can actually take appropriate action.
