I ended up purchasing a car from Autoloan Finders in March 2012. I was coming out of a Chapter 7. The engine blew on my 2006 model car and I had an hour commute each way to work, so I needed reliable transportation. I contacted ALF to set up and appointment to see what could be done.

First, I must say these people are not in the business of helping you. They are in the business of helping themselves. You are at their mercy. They charge 28 percent APR on an auto loan through Independent Dealers Association, a finance group that more than likely they own, but I cannot prove that.

The idea of rebuilding your credit is to do so slowly with the least amount of risk. Buying a car through these people is maximum risk. The payments are high due to the interest rate. Even at a high interest rate of 15 percent at 60 months on a $10,000 loan with $1,000 down, your payments should be in the neighborhood of $230. That is manageable. No, ALF charges 28 percent and my payments came out to more than $430 a month for 72 months. I was in a spot, needed transportation badly, and yes, I should have been more careful.

So, please do not buy anything from these people. People with bad credit who buy from places like ALF only make it worse. It doesn't make sense.
