Complaint Review: Automaxx Car Sales

I financed a car on March 24 2014(Monday) from Automaxx car sales on Western ave Knoxville, TN. March 27(Thursday) I had to have the car towed to Automaxx Collision Repair as the vehicle had began to jump gears while stopped at a red light and stall and cut off while in a restaurant drive thru. The car had to be towed because when I went to drive the car to the repair shop all of the gears responded as if in neutral and my courtesy officer along with a maintenance man at my apartment office had to roll the car out the street. Long story short the car is now at a reputable dealership with over $3000 worth of repairs needing to be done. I have contacted the attorney generals office, the BBB, the FTC, and Don Dare as my choices would seem to be either fix the car or have a voluntary repo ruin my credit for a car I had for three days. I purchased a warranty thru the finance company but the warranty does not cover any of the repairs needed. The cars defects were so major i.e. the computer needing to be replaced, transmission in limp mode, etc. the should not have been sold. I have children and for a car salesman to not care about the safety of my family and I is disgraceful I think. This is my case please fully inspect any vehicle new or used and check reviews they may save your money, time and life! Also in the event you are unfortunate and do get defective merchandise always utilize all your resources. Just because the car was used and the state of TN doesnt have lemon laws doesnt mean your stuck. The Consumer Affairs office is there to help consumera who have been wronged. Also there are all types of legal help even for people who dont think they can afford it.
