Donovan Hutchison claims to be an automobile mechanic. He even has some kind of certificate that he has posted in his gargage that claims he has earned an ASE Master Technician certification and claims he can work on any car and repair it.

To make a long story short, he was to work on the 2004 VW Beatle in November 2012. Our VW was having its temperature gauge temperature light come on and Donovan told our daughter to drive it to work and bring it in when she finished  work. He also instructed her on how to put water in the radiator.  By the time she got the car to Donovan's gargage, the VW engine was steaming and making a noise. He told us the head gasket needed to be resurfaced and it would cost $1K, which we paid him in cash (he insisted cash only).

He had to wait for the resurfaced gasket to come back from the shop and then called and said there was another problem. He said the block was cracked but he said he could get a good used one with 83,000 miles on it for $1,600.  We paid him cash as my daughter needed to get the car repaired so she could go to work.  In short, Donovan claimed the car was repaired but the car still was not operating properly.

Donovan was able to convince my wife and daughter the VW needed additional work, which we paid additional big dollars in cash.  We finally said enough and had the car towed to a reputable car mechanic shop "Accurate Automotive". They examined the car and said the head gasket was indeed blown but it was never replaced. The original problem that caused the car to overheat was a crack in the radiator. Donovan promised that he would get the VW running smoothly and even detail the car. These were hollow promises and a costly lifetime lesson learned.

BTW, Automotive Aid is not registered with the Arizona Secretary of State so after months of waiting for this agency to investaigate our claim, we found out they will not investigate this fraud case because he never registered his business with the Secretary of State. ( You can't make this stuff up!).   You will see internet posts that some customers were very satisfied with his car repair work but my guess is he had his friend or family member write these rebuttals. Also, Donovan provided no receipts  and only accepted cash for all the parts that he alledgedly purchased to repair the vehicle.  This alone should be a warning to all prospective clients of Automotive Aid!!!

Check out the other posts of being defrauded by Donovan and Aotomotive Aid, which is sometimes advertised on Craig's List and you will see a pattern. Caveat emptor!!!!! Caveat emptor!!!!!

Victim of Donovan awarded Judgement

#2General Comment

Sun, November 09, 2014

A judgement was just issued to someone that was ripped off by Donovan in the amount of 3100 for supposedly replacing an engine and infact never did. Same story all around the rip off report and the was just awarded Nov 7 2014. If everyone files a compaint against this guy with the city and police for fraud he will go to jail for his actions but if you only post it on the rip off report nothing will ever happen to this guy. He will probably pack up and move states and be free with the money he took from you. Hes already been sued and lost so please make these reports now while he is still fresh in the judges mind.
