I had received two notices from some extended warranty company on a KIA automobile, which I don't own and have never owned. This latest extended warranty offer was from "Automobile Services Department," no address whatsoever, nothing more than that non-informative name. There was only a phone number to call, and I did call. I was offered an extended warranty on my 18-year-old car for only $186.42 for 3 years.

I said I never bought anything like this over the phone and would wait for the offer in writing. But it seemed I had to commit to the policy right then and there. I was assured that I would have a month to review the policy once it came but would have to commit to it first and pay for it. Such "assurances" mean nothing when not given in writing from a reputable company that has a verifiable address as well as a phone number.

I am almost 88 years old. I'll bet these people are targeting the elderly, thinking we all have dementia. Unfortunately for them, i do not have dementia and also use a computer. People, don't fall for this one!
