Complaint Review: Autumn Ridge Nursery

I have had a negative experience with Autumn Ridge Nursery(AutumnRidgeNursery.com), an online retailer that sells plants and trees.

I placed an order for several bareroot plants. The "plants" arrived as 1/8" diameter bareroot twigs with no growth on them whatsoever. They were completely dried out - roots crackled to dust at the lightest touch. They were loosely wrapped in moldy newspaper and stuffed in a flimsy paper-towel cardboard roll, not even a standard mailing tube.

I had purchased 3-day express shipping, but when it didn't arrive over 2 weeks later, they explained that 3-day express shipping means they don't wait around three days before searching their greenhouse for your twigs before sending them out regular mail. No wonder they were so dried out.

They looked so dead I called and asked them about it. They insulted my intelligence by telling me these cuttings were "bareroot" and "dormant" instead of dead, as if I couldn't tell the difference. I've bought plenty of bareroot/dormant plants, but they all have green beneath the surface and do not crackle to dust. They told me to plant my twigs and water them with a little Miracle Grow. I did so, but they did not grow. Except for one, a peach tree, which only grew from beneath the graft, meaning I was 0 for 6.

They would not refund my order but continue an endless, pointless cycle of sending me dead replacement twigs.
