AV&H Auto Sales Lied about vehicle condition and were paid for work not completed Portland Oregon
AVOID AV&H AT ALL COSTS...My learning disabled son spent $1600 of his disability money on a hi mileage van because Henry AV&H principal convinced us that the transmission had been recently rebuilt, 32 days later tranny quit, the tranny techs we towed it to showed us it was not rebuilt but original 200,000+ miles...Henry cited "as is " clause in contract my gullible son signed cost of rebuild was $1900...a week later water pump failed cost $350...a month later the engine started leaking oil cause was a cracked block...new engine replacement estimate was $2600...Henry told us if we paid his friend to tow it he would do engine replacement for $1600 + $130 for tow, 3 weeks later van was still being worked on and rental car cost $1080! Finally Henry finished and van ran terribly overheated, sputtered, no acceleration it was definitely not driveable. He took it back for another week and returned it with same problems said he was finished it must be tranny guys fault. We had an independent certified repair service contact Henry to tell him it was actually his work and he had somehow cracked intake manifold and it would cost $725 to repair, they recommended he cover costs as he had been paid in full for engine installation, he refused and became abusive on phone cursing out repair shop owner. I have tried to get him to contribute but he steadfastly refuses and says "as is”? But as doesn’t apply to a paid repair, he’s a crook avoid his place AV&H at all costs to date we have spent $6000 on this junker he refused our offer to trade it for something else from his extensive inventory, guess we will go to circuit court next.
