We made our reservation for the Avalon Waterfront Inn through a BookIt representative one Friday night. The representative confirmed that the hotel was clean before accepting my payment. We checked in at 9:40pm and then went to dinner.

When we got back to the room, we were absolutely mortified by what we found. The room was old and very, very dirty. There was damage from a water leak in several places, mold on the table legs and in the bathroom. The floors had not been swept or mopped and there was dirt on the floor in at least five different places. The pillows on the bed were carelessly placed, and on one bed, we found three different types of hairs. One was blond, one was black, and one appeared to be a pubic hair.

The bath towels were poorly washed and the water in the toilet was yellow. The shower was not cleaned. There were food stains on and inside the microwave, on the kitchen wall, and inside the refrigerator. None of the counter tops or table tops had been wiped down. The toaster was covered in crumbs. The pictures on the website showed none of the disgusting features we found. This hotel should not even be allowed to remain open in its current condition. Even the lobby was dirty and disheveled. The employee was very empathetic and assisted us in securing a refund from BookIt of $221.
