Complaint Review: Avc - Americas Value Channel

Avc - Americas Value Channel AVC will not return my money. It's been 2 months and their policy is 30 days. I just noticed they're building a new website.....guess now I know what they used my money for. Lawrenceville Georgia

I purchased a gemstone for $1400. When I got it, the color was much lighter than on TV. I returned it the same day I received it. After many phone calls to customer service I learned:

They don't know anything
They can't do anything
There's no one else to speak to
There's no way to get an answer
There's no way to escalate a problem
They don't care

Oh, and by the way, they have an 800 number to place an order but you have to call long distance to reach customer service.

You are one very sharp lady. The excuse of "growing pains" is a well worn phrase used by AVC. They've been around for two years and doing people wrong for most of that time. The "TOP" knows exactly what is going on. They just don't have the values or morals to make things right. You have a bunch of hustlers who know only one thing--sell, sell, sell. They have no management, finance, or HR strength. Just imagine a bunch of used car salesmen trying to run a business.

It's almost painful to watch the desperation when they're not selling. As far as management, one of their weakest links is the inadequate supervisor over the Call Center. Completely unprofessional and poorly trained. Unfortunately he doesn't know his own shortcomings.

My hat is off to you, Deborah. You're not fooled by the typical salesman lines.

You mentioned that, "The powers above were unaware of any problems etc...". Do NOT believe this for one minute. I have been told that there are only 3 customer service representatives to handle ALL incoming customer service calls but there are over 15 representatives taking orders on any given night. No wonder you can call in (Toll free, mind you) to place an order and have your call answered immediately, but you have to wait 45 minutes (on a long distance call) when you want to make a return. Do you actually think that a company who refuses to hire more reps to handle returns and complaints actually cares about its customers? Do you actually think that a company who only gives you 7 days to get a return number from 3 reps actually has NO IDEA that there are any problems with their processes and systems? You can hear it in the voices of the poor girls who work there that they are stressed out. I get the same girl, almost EVERYTIME I call. I wonder if they even have 3 customer service reps at all! This company has a LOT of problems! The managers on the show are rude and nasty if you are asking too many questions about the products when you call in to order products. You can actually HEAR them in the background telling the operators not to talk to certain customers. The products that they show on the television are NOT what they send out to customers in MANY cases - that is Bait & Switch and THAT my friends is MAIL FRAUD. Their shipping prices are higher than ANY OTHER network and it looks like they ONLY return your money if you call in and bug them to death about it. If I never called (8 times), I doubt that I would have EVER gotten my money back AND they simply REFUSED to pay the interest charges they caused me. This company is rotten from the TOP & don't believe anything else. Businesses ALWAYS know what is going on with their customers. That is precisely why they have set up this so called "Solutions" email. It is a SMOKE SCREEN folks! For all of the Smoke & Mirrors!

A Message to Anyone Thinking of Buying from America's Value Channel

Under no circumstances should you ever use America's Value Channel. To get a refund on order's from them is impossible. To do a return you need an RMA number. I called in requesting an RMA number. No one (after 20 plus calls to the customer service department) would help me. Finally on call 24 (I'm not joking) they finally gave me the RMA number just so I could return the merchandise.

After a ridiculous amount of time to get RMA number, I was told I would get a refund of my $919.99 purchase within 30 days. It has been long past the thirty days, customer service continues not to return my 15+ phone messages I've left. When I'm looking enough not to be dropped into an answering machine, customer service just says that I'm due a refund, but there is nothing they can do, and they will send a memo to the accounting department.

Perhaps AVC is going bankrupt and cannot afford to do refunds? I'm extremely frustrated on how to get my refund, and feel I'm in a hopeless situation. Never, never, never use America's Value Channel unless you want to be treated as poorly as I have.
