My daughter was an Aveda cosmetology student and was expelled for defending herself verbally and physically from a bully that threatened to "drag her by the hair" and then attacked her at her station because the other student was bothered with the noise of a tapping cosmetic brush. It took 2 instructors to remove the other student from my daughter.
She was told this was not the first incident, granted the first incident involved a teacher who didn't care to assist and had a "whatever" attitude when my daughter asked her for help. If my daughter was inappropriate with the teacher it was after the school administration allowed 7 out of a 9 week phase to go by without a designated teacher, no guidance, different substitutes, endless idle hours of students sitting around doing nothing while they continue to be charge the students for tuition which is over 20K . Students would often leave for 2 hour lunch breaks instead of the alowed 45 minutes, un-noticed. The state cosmotology board will also be contacted.
They are defrauding the government by using Financial Aid funds, they are defrauding parents and students by providing a sub-par education. Do not spend your money or the governments here, it is al fluff and when questioned about their practices they skirt their way around the questions.
My daughter was told she is stil responsible for 70% of the program costs. The way I see it they owe my daughter a 7 weeks credit for the weeks where they learned to sit and watch the school defraud them.
