Avesta Capella Apt. homes is the worst apts. you can get. This is my story. I was a resident of the property for 2 years. I initially rented my apt. at the location when it was under different management, after living there for 6 months (things were okay) the apt. complex was purchased by AVESTA properties and became Avesta Capella. After it became Avesta Capella- everything changed. Basically, everything went to crap. Rent got hiked up every year yet NO improvements to the property that would warrant such a price increase were made. The onsite laundry rooms were always locked, day and night so you could never go do your laundry. The pool was disgusting and you'd end up with swimmer itch bacterial infection if you swam in it. The dumpsters were always overflowing with garbage that was never picked up and blew all over the parking lots and up into your yard and porches that was never cleaned up. The "gated community" was a joke because the security gates hadn't worked in over 8 months (why was I paying to live in a gated community when the gates didn't operate?), also the supposed on-site security patrol could either never be reached by phone when you called them and/or you'd never see any security patroling the parking or grounds- ever! (again why am I paying to live in a community where I'm supposed to have security and locking gates when neither is present or working). So I decided to move out when my lease was up.

I paid my final bills. I completed the final apt. walk thru with their maintenance man and he said that I cleaned and left the apt. in the best shape he's ever seen! I sign off on the apt. I turned in all my keys everything was fine.

I thought I was done. I'd moved out. I was rid of living in their roach infested filthy ill-maintained over priced crap apts.

or so I thought.

I waited to get my deposit along with final letter detailing any charges from the deposit.

An entire month goes by. So I check the online portal.

To my upset and amazement there is a charge for $95 charged to me. So I call the leasing office to find out what is going on.

After I'd not live in the apt. for a month, mind you, they had their make ready subcontracted carpet cleaners come in and it was the carpet cleaners that supposedly smelled a smell. NOTICE: I had not lived in the apartment and had moved out and the apt. had sat vacant for a MONTH before these cleaners were in there to clean the carpets and smelled the supposed "smell" that they charged to me. So that ate my deposit and then $95 more for some Ozone treatment they did was charged to me. The final walk thru I did the day I moved out with the Avesta maintenance man and there was absolutely no mention of a smell or of anything wrong with the carpet. I feel scammed. Seriously scammed and treated fraudulently because I hadn't been in the apt. for a month by the time this smell was found and all these ozone treatment/carpet cleaning took place. So why am I being charged for something that obviously could have happened during the month that the apt. was left vacant and I wasn't living in it???? Avesta Capella are rip off artists and you'd be wise to never get an apt. there!

I'm going to fight the charges. I feel I was fraudulently charged for things I did not do to the apt. and nobody said a word to me about during the final move-out walk thru I did with maintenance. And they of course pull this crap on me a month after I'd been moved out
