I paid for AVG Internet Security via PayPal - when I did so, I seemed to be directed to a foreign-based Paypal site (.de extension) which was alarming enough. Payment was processed and I received a license number. Hours later, I received an email from "element 5" who apparently was doing the processing (they were listed on previous emails relating to the order also) that began with:

Dear Valued Customer,

element 5 processes orders and collects payments on behalf of AVG
Technologies CY Limited.

Unfortunately, the PayPal transaction for your order 230721885 failed. The
order can therefore not be completed.

Now, my Paypal account lists the transaction as completed and paid for. The license number worked (I sure hope I unlocked an authentic version of AVG!!!) but this email tried to lead me through the checkout process again. I tried to contact AVG using their online customer service contact form - they don't offer a phone number - but it kept erroring out. There is an "AVG Technologies CY Limited" office in Cyprus, but I'm not sure why my license came from them.

AVG might be a good product, but this checkout and ensuing attempt to have me process payment again was fishy. If anyone else has experienced this I'd be happy to hear about it, or if anyone has experience with the mysterious "element 5."
