Total SCAM artists! Confirmed price on phone, with witnesses, including concierge at resort. Stated that they would deliver car for free to resort on Christmas Day, knowing full well that holiday time would limit our immediate choices for recourse.
When car arrived, delivery driver tried to charge us 3 times what was quoted on the phone. We were very frustrated and felt taken advantage of by this organisation. Contacted corporate Avis and they basically said we were screwed because this was more than a franchise and they could and would not do anything. Disavowed the Port Vila location all together.
We rented from Avis thinking there would be protection from such SCAMS by using an international organisation. So not true! This is the third issue we have had over the years with Avis pulling this crap. DO NOT RENT FROM AVIS EVER! In Australia the roadside assistance is horrible too. Can’t imagine roadside assistance in Vanuatu.
Again total crooks here. The manager, who looked like a Somali pirate sent a very young woman to drop the car off at resort. Like sending a child to do his dirty work and con job. Shame on them. Tainted our whole image of Vanuatu. Sad.
