Complaint Review: Avoir Skin

Avoir Skin (Velour Skin) Continue to bill credit card. Billed with no product received. Would not let me cancel on the phone. Santa Ana California

Ordered a trial offer of Avoir Skin, gave credit card number. Company called me upon receipt of order and asked me to verify credit card number over the phone.  This was before I received any product.  I refused to give credit card number on the phone.

The caller said I would receive a phone number to cancel my forthcoming orders and it would be included in my trial order package.  I did receive the trial offer and there were no accompanying papers or phone numbers included. 

The initial shipping charges of approximately $4 for both packages--one from Avoir and one from Velour--was charged to my credit card in October which is what I had agreed to.  Upon receiving my statement in November there were approximately $195 in charges combined from the two companies, although the charges were listed separately.  At this point I had not received any product/

I called one of the phone numbers shown on the credit card company as being associated with one of the companies to tell them to cancel my order and take off the charges.  The represenative "checked with her supervisor" and told me that if I would pay 40% of the charge, then they would let me cancel.  I refused.

I contacted my credit card company and disputed the charges. Still no product received other than the initial trial offer.

Two more charges showed up on my December statement.  I received two products on approximately December 10, returned them to post office as "refused service, return to sender," had it stamped as such and dated by the postmaster.

I have checked with my credit card company and my dispute has not been resolved.  They are working on it.

Do not get involved with this company.  As far as the product is concerned, they are no better than anything I could buy off the shelf for a lot less money.  I never did get any phone number to call to cancel order.  If necessary, I will close that credit card account.
