AWD Pools Preston Stephens 6 to 8 week job over 6 months now, no work in over 2 months, lies, no shows, theft. Griffin Georgia
Over 6 months and a second loan to get my pool built and not by Preston Stephens at AWD Pools. He has not set foot on my property since August 13, 2014 and it is now Oct. 22. even though he has promised, and said he would be here "tomorrow" numerous times. He has done this to at least 3 other clients that I know of. He takes installments to pay for my stuff but uses it to pay for someone else's job that he has left stranded and now he has no more money to finish mine until he gets the next job which could be months. I've lived with a trash pit of a back yard with no grass and an unfinished pool and broken promises for months. There are no bad reviews out there, which I don't understand because this has supposedly been going on for over 2 years with him. He owes me and other people so much! I had a lein on my home threatened from the cement company that he owed, but he finally paid that after weeks of me hounding him. Worst, most stressful experience of my life. Oh, I used a credit card for only a small portion of this job and was refunded, I advise credit cards be used for any big job if possible.

We signed a contract with Preston Stephens (AWD Pools AKA CPP Pools) to complete an outdoor living area on October 27 2015. The projecct includes a pavilion, multiple arbors, firepit, pool, jacuzzi and outdoor kitchen. As of August 8th, Preston has not been on site for several months, does not return phone calls/text messages and has collected $97,000 towards the completion of the project. We are now paying a premium to another pool company to complete the project. In addition, various pool builders have outlined where/how the work done by Preston is not only sub-par, but also not to code (steps with different heights/depths, no footers in various areas, stonework sloppy, not level, etc).
I have no reason to believe Preston had any intention on completing the project... Anything completed was done in the most cost effective manner to show progress and collect more money. I have confirmed this by speaking with various other REPUTABLE pool companies. Similar to other complaints about Preston, he lies constantly about when he will be on site to work, is completely unreliable, and only shows up on site consistently if he is expecting to get a check. If he has been paid, he will provide an excuse. We have heard: Car broke down, crew not available, crew lied to him, material sold out, weather no good (our weather was just fine).
Be wary, as his jobs are always in different parts of the state. This is because he is unable to earn any referrals based on reputation (or lack thereof).
