Twenty years ago when my husband and I were naive this sounded like a great idea. We paid $13.00-$18.00 per month over the years and when needed a water heater would be replaced free of additional charges. We have only needed one water heater replacement. If you do the math, we could have replaced ten water heaters. We started having difficulty in November 2013 wnen we did not receive a bill. I eventually searched online  and paid it. It was paid , although it was received late because it was not mailed to the correct address. After a few months of incorrect bills because of this late posting I would have thought it would have been straightened out, but No.

I tried to pay this onlone and the deduction appeared on my online bank statement. However, my next bill did not credit that statement. I had called them because it had taken so long to post , and they told that I had a $0 balance.I called them (this was January) and they told me that my bank declined it because I had the incorrect bank account number, remember it posted on my statement. If my account number was incorrect, why was it on my statement? Computers read the numbers!  I mailed my "double " payment. I waited and waited: it never posted to my account. It had been two weeks and they told me that they never received it.

I had to talk to three people. I acccused them of holding the payment in order to charge me a late payment. The supervisor that I spoke to hung up on me. The payment which "they never received" posted that day. What a coincidence. We decided that when summer came that we having this removed. I had read reviews about other people who did this and had to fight with this company because AWHR said that they still owed them money. I hope this doesn"t happen, but I am preparing myself. My husband called about this yesterday, July 20, 2014, and arranged everything. We have a $0 balance.

This was confirmed after they first told him that we owed money. When he told him that it had posted then they agreed that Yes, we had a $0 balnace. One second they tell you that you owe money and they next they tell you that you don"t. Today, I talked to Janette. She said that the removal cannot cannot be complete until we pay for June. I told her it had posted on July 11, 2014. One second she said we owed money, and the next she said we didn't. Anyway they won't remove the water heater until I fax them a copy of the check. They apparently cannot add , subtract, or read!!!!! Do not deal with them. We have paid thoudsands for the grief that they putting us through. A new heater with plumber installation will probably be less than $400.
